5G Technology
Life without technology cannot be imagined. Technology has made our life, our work easier. It has become a very integral part of the daily life for everyone. If we talk about 5G technology, it can be used in education, telemedicine, smart city development and agricultural field. 5G has entered in the fields like IT, space, computer, robotics, nanotechnology, biotechnology. 5G is the fifth generation technology. It is a new global wireless standard after 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G networks. It enables a new kind of network that is designed to connect virtually everyone and everything together including machines, objects and devices.
In 5G- G denotes generation and this generation denotes to revolution. The revolution upgrades the previous technology, thus we got the generations up to 5G and it will go on.
Let's summarise shortly a journey from 1G upto 5G.
« 1G- Voice only
1G is the first generation of wireless cellular technology. This is the concept of 1980s. 1G is analog technology which supports voice only. The phone using it had poor battery life and voice quality. The maximum speed of 1G technology was 2.4 kbps. From this speed, we were not able to send single photo or video.
« 2G- SMS and MMS
It started from 1991 on GSM network and with that CDMA technology also came into existence in which the operator could fix the number into the phone and only that number works in that particular phone. The speed of this network is 64 Kbps. We can send the black and white picture message only. In this technology the big advancement was that from analog we came to digital technology.
« 3G- More data, video calling and mobile internet
The introduction of 3G networks in 1998 proceeds in faster data transmission. We can use mobile in more data demanding ways such as video calling and mobile internet access. The term "mobile broadband" was first applied to 3G technology. The maximum speed of 3G is around 2mbps for non-moving devices and 384 kbps for moving vehicles.
« 4G- The current standard
This technology was built to bring high speed, high capacity and high quality for users at a really low cost of voice and data services. The advance form of 4G also came with new name 4G LTE. LTE means long term evolution, in this technology the high quality of resolution videos were possible without any buffering. There was a further improvement in 4G LTE which is known as VOLTE( voice over long term evolution). It is the advanced version of 4G LTE. It enables to take call and access over internet.

« 5G- The future
5G is the fifth generation technology. It increases the downloading and uploading speed over the mobile network and also reduce the latency that is the time taken by a network to respond. 5G will provide download speed of 1gbps which is at least 100 times the existing data speeds. 5G will have a wider area in the frequency spectrum, it will also ensure connectivity to a full circle that means everything is connected to every other things. In 5G you will find increased energy efficiency and it will offer more stable network connections.

Applications of 5G
