ANTI TOBACCO DAY
The World No Tobacco Day is organized on 31st May in an entire year by World health organisation (WHO). The main reason behind this event is to stop the negative health impacts. In this event media promotes the positive points using advertisements, public marches and rallies. All the NGOs and similar organisations join together to promote the quitting of tobacco.

The Tobacco day event has originated from 1987 for reducing the death rate. Nowadays so many people are dying due to smoking, chewing tobacco gutkha and snuff which is very much harmful for their body. The main aim of this day is to spread awareness about the dangers of consuming tobacco and how health problem can be tackled by doctors when one quits smoking. According to WHO " The news came out that smokers were more likely to develop severe disease with covid-19 compared to non smokers”.
WHO has recently launched a year-long global compaign for world no tobacco day 2021- "commit to quit". With these compaign they support the hundred million peoples to give up tobacco through various initiatives and digital solutions. In pandemic year millions of tobacco users wanting to quit was challenging, especially with the added social and economic stresses.
HEALTH EFFECTS DUE TO TOBACCO-
Smoking leads to disease and disability and harms nearly every organ of the body. Smoking causes cancer, heart disease, stroke, lung disease, diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It also increases the risk for tuberculosis, certain eye disease and problems of the immune system. Loss of sense of smell and taste, yellow teeth, tooth decay and bad breath. Nicotine is the Known addictive substance in tobacco. Regular use of tobacco products leads to addiction in many users. Nicotine in tobacco are easily absorbed into the blood through the lungs and quickly spread throughout the body and causes serious health problems.

QUITTING TOBACCO HAS THE MAJOR AND IMMEDIATE HEALTH BENEFITS-
Just after 20 minutes of quitting the heart drops, within 12 hours the carbon monoxide level in the blood drops normal. Within 2-12 weeks, the circulation improves and lung function increases. Within 1-9 months, coughing and shortness of breath decrease. Within 5-15 years, the stroke risk reduced to that of a non- smoker. Within 10 years, the lung cancer death rate is about half that of a smoker. Within 15 years, the risk of heart disease is that of a non- smoker. So stop using tobacco it harmful to you and your family members, and also the waste of money.
