Azadi Ki Amrit Mahotsav Samvida
“Constitution is not a mere lawyer’s document, it is a vehicle of Life, and its spirit is always the spirit of Age.”
-Dr B.R. Ambedkar

Constitution Day, also called as Samvidhan Diwas, is observed every year on 26 November in India. This day celebrates the adoption of the Constitution in India. This year Samvidan Diwas was celebrated as a part of 'Azadi Ki Amrit Mahotsav'. A constitution is important because it ensures that those who make decisions on behalf of the public fairly represent public opinion. It also sets out the ways in which those who exercise power may be held accountable to the people they serve.
In GISK, Samvidhan Diwas was celebrated with zeal and zest to commemorate and respect the constitution of India keeping COVID protocols in mind. Mass reading of the Preamble was done by the learners on this occasion. Seminar on ‘Significance of Constitution’ was conducted for the learners by Mr. Subbarao Kere, Vice- Principal of the school, wherein he explained the learners how the constitution was adopted and executed for the welfare of people. One of the learners shared his views on the accountability of youth towards the successful implementation of constitution. The seminar was concluded by Mr. Rohit Chobey, Mathematics educator, with his words of encouraging the learners to participate in “Online Quiz on Constitutional Democracy." He also explained the following information sent by CBSE Board.
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs will be setting up following two portals so that school children can also participate in these celebrations:
