Celebration of National Science Day
“One scientific invention can change the world forever!!” Inventions include things like- the steam engine, printing press, the computer, internet, the light bulb, penicillin, and many more. In this modern era, Science is having a major influence on our day-to-day life. Technology has made life simpler and easier. India has contributed to the scientific world from the ancient period itself. Now too our scientists are making it possible to be powerful with the technological up gradations in all related fields. In India, National Science Day (NSD) is celebrated on 28th February 2023.
The Rashtriya Vigyan Diwas day is observed every year to commemorate the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ by Sir C.V. Raman on 28 February 1928. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930 for the same.
National Science Day is celebrated with the aim of creating awareness and creating scientific temper in the society about the benefits of science under the aegis of National Council of Science and Technology and Ministry of Science and Technology. The theme for the National Science Day, NSD 2023 is ‘Global Science for Global Wellbeing’.
In order to promote scientific temper among students Gajera International School Katargam organized “Science Exhibition”.
The learners acquired a platform to use their Scientific knowledge and bring the best invention from their brain to table. It also allowed learners to work in group. They shared their ideas about science and technology. Learners made projects based on environment using eco-friendly materials. Projects like rainwater harvesting, water irrigation, solar system, afforestation and deforestation, etc. After science fair, a survey was made to the learners. The judges appreciated the efforts of the learners. A Separate section for Science versus myth was also centre of attraction.It was a wonderful exhibition that engaged the learners in learning new facts.
