A farm is an area of land that is devoted primarily to agricultural processes with the primary objective of producing food and other crops; it is the basic facility in food production.

The name is used for specialized units such as arable farms, vegetable farms, fruit farms, dairy, pig and poultry farms, and land used for the production of natural fibers, biofuel and other commodities.

It includes ranches, feedlots, orchards, plantations and estates, smallholdings and hobby farms, and includes the farmhouse and agricultural buildings as well as the land. In modern times the term has been extended so as to include such industrial operations as wind farms and fish farms, both of which can operate on land or sea.

Farmers have great importance in our society. They are the ones who provide us food to eat. Since every person needs proper food for their living, so they are a necessity in society. Moreover, farmers who grow these crops are of prime importance.

Benefits-

Farming creates opportunities to lift people out of poverty in developing nations. Over 60 percent of the world's working poor works in agriculture. Farming creates more jobs, beginning with farmers, and continuing with farm equipment makers, food processing plants, transportation, infrastructure and manufacturing.

Educator view-

Seeing plants grow and yield fruits will be excellent experiential learning which may trigger an interest in farming. Also, this can give children an appreciation and understanding of agriculture and food from a young age. Ideally, schools should offer hands-on agriculture options such as terrace or backyard gardening.

Output:-

Livestock and crop are the main product categories of agricultural output. Agricultural output comprises: output sold (including trade between agricultural holdings); changes in stocks; output for own final consumption; output produced for further processing by agricultural producers; and intra-unit consumption of livestock feed products.

To raise the importance of the healthy and green environment in our lives, to solve the issues of the environment by implementing some positive environmental measures at very young age.
