National Doctor’s Day
“Only a Doctor is blessed with the magical powers to treat life, to bring health
into our lives and to be there with us when we have lost all the hope.”
A doctor is the one who is given the stature next to God. The Doctor is an essential element of our society. The sole purpose of a doctor is to make their patients lead a healthier and happier life. Doctors are real heroes who devote their time, their lives and their health to help those most in need. They risk their lives to treat people with contagious diseases without caring for their own. That’s why their profession is the noblest of all. India celebrates National Doctors' Day on July 1 every year to honour the birth and death anniversary of great physician and second chief minister of West Bengal, Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy. This day serves to show gratitude to all those doctors who have selflessly aided us in our time of need and tirelessly worked for the health of their patients.
At GISK, the celebration of National Doctor’s Day was an attempt to emphasize on the value of doctors in our lives and to express our gratitude towards them. Teachers explained the learners about importance of health and hygiene and the role played by the doctor’s in our society. We organised an informative Talk Show with an eminent guest Dr. Vimal Rathi who is by profession a cosmetic dentist, Tobacco Toxicologist and a World records holder from the city of Surat. He shared his views on dental health and oral hygiene that helps a person to prevent oral disease such as periodontal diseases, bad breath and other dental problems.
Dr. Suman Agarwal, dermatologist, cosmetologist and hair plant surgeon also blessed the day with her benign presence. She expressed her ideas about hair and skin care as well as cosmetic dentistry. She also had a live interaction with our inquisitive learners wherein the various health-related questions were posed by them and all their queries and doubts were cleared.
Our learners were greatly endowed with the information which they acquired from the guests. They were able to appreciate and recognize the significance of the doctors' roles in the society. The celebration was a resounding success.
