National Science Day or Rashtriya Vigyan Divas is celebrated on February 28 to commemorate the discovery of Raman Effect, a phenomenon in spectroscopy, by Indian physicist Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman. CV Raman discovered Raman Effect while working in the laboratory of the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata. For his discovery, CV Raman was awarded the prestigious Nobel Prize in Physics. Since 1987, India has celebrated this day as National Science Day to pay tribute to the great scientist.

At GISK, we firmly believe that both textual studies and extra-curricular activities are part of complete holistic development of a child and therefore we provide them spectrum of activities to showcase their talent and also learn something new from it. National Science Day was celebrated in the school to display all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare. The celebration aimed at spreading a message about the significance of scientific applications used in the daily life of the people.

A number of activities were organized to celebrate this day. Our learners participated in Science Fair Day and presented working and non-working models, charts and demonstrated magic tricks behind science. Furthermore, primary grade learners participated in Science Suit Show by imitating role of various characters of science and an act was organized focusing on theme "Evolution". This grand celebration amplified their inquisitiveness and made an event a resounding success.
