“ Seminar on World Health Day : Health for All ”
World Health Day was celebrated on the 7th of April ’23 at Gajera International School – Katargam to raise awareness about health and well-being. It was an opportunity to highlight the importance of good health practices and promote healthy living. The theme for this year's World Health Day is "Health for All."
As learners, it is essential to understand the importance of maintaining good health practices as it is also one of the UN SDG number 3 - Good Health and Well-being. Owner and Founder of Sahyog Physiotherapy and Fitness Centre - Dr. Afreen Jasani and her partner Dr. Namrata Makwana took the session and guided the learners on maintaining good health.
During the session, they emphasized that - Good health is not just about being physically fit, but it also includes mental and social well-being. Here are some tips for maintaining good health:
1. Eat a healthy diet: A balanced diet that includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats can help maintain good health.
2. Exercise regularly: Regular physical activity can improve your physical and mental health. It can also help reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
3. Get enough sleep: Getting enough sleep is essential for good health. It helps to rejuvenate the body and mind.
4. Manage stress: Chronic stress can lead to several health problems. Practicing relaxation techniques like meditation and deep breathing can help manage stress.
5. Stay hydrated: Drinking enough water is essential for good health. It helps regulate body temperature, protect organs, and transport nutrients.

Apart from the above-mentioned tips, they also included that it is important to maintain personal hygiene to prevent the spreading of infections and diseases. Washing hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds can help prevent the spread of germs. It is also important to cover your mouth and nose while sneezing or coughing and maintain social distancing to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses.
Regular health check-ups and screenings are also crucial to maintain good health. It helps in the early detection and treatment of diseases, reducing the risk of complications. Vaccinations also play a crucial role in preventing infectious diseases.

Mental health is also an important aspect of overall health and well-being. It is essential to take care of mental health by practicing relaxation techniques, engaging in hobbies, and seeking professional help if required.
It is also important to avoid unhealthy habits like smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and drug abuse & which should not be followed ever in life. These habits can lead to several health problems and reduce the quality of life.
In conclusion, good health is essential for a happy and fulfilling life. As learners, it is important to prioritize our health and well-being. By adopting healthy habits, practicing personal hygiene, and seeking timely medical attention, we can lead a healthy and fulfilling life.
All the learners took the pledge to prioritize their health and build a fairer, healthier world.
