SPORTS MEET – 2022-23

“Sports do not build character. They reveal it”

Sports Day brings new energy in the hearts and minds of the learners. This day is marked with great joy and discovering the inner talent of a child in the field of sports. It is said that Sport strips away personality, letting the white bone of character shine through thus giving players an opportunity to know and test themselves. Since Gajera Trust is committed to all round personality development, Sports and Games are always given an equal priority and a good amount of time is being spent by the learners.

Gajera International School Katargam organized Sports Day to inculcate sportsmanship, leadership, unity and competitive spirit among its young learners. MR.CHIRAG RAMESHBHAI GANDHI- A Para International player and captain of Gujarat team. He has played 3 international tournament 34 national tournament and has been honored 8 times man of the series and 12 times man of the match, joining him we had MR.VISHAL SHAH an individual who is HR by profession and a CYCLIST by passion. Our Respected trustee Mr. Chunibhai Gajera along with the Directors and the Principals graced the event. A large sitting arena was raised for the learners to sit and enjoy the day.

This mega event commenced with Ganesh Vandana to seek abundant blessings of Lord Ganesha for a resounding success of the day. Then it was time to light the torch flame which represented the endeavor for protection and struggle for victory. The athletes then took an oath to abide by the rules of the games and to stand in solidarity and fidelity. The march past of the four different houses, coupled with some stirring marching music, was a feast to the eyes and ears.

The Annual Sports Meet was declared open by Respected Principal Mrs.Sonia Budhiraja. The center of attraction was release of balloons by the dignitaries.

The learners energetically and wholeheartedly competed in sports events like relay races, 100 m race, 200 m race, long jump, high jump, 400 m race, discus throw, 800 m race, javelin throw, 100 x 4 relay race and tug of war. The athletes were at their best in competing with each other. All the games were exciting ones to watch. Sporting competences exhibited by our indomitable athletes were really commendable.

Gajera International School always believes that the Sports Meet is a ritual designed to maintain the ideology and values of a competitive and hierarchical culture of Personality Development. After all, Champions aren't made in the gyms. They are made from something they have deep inside them-a desire, a dream, and a vision. Our school just facilitates them in becoming one.
