Story Telling Competition
“There's always room for a story that can transport people to another place.” ― J.K. Rowling
It’s the stories that give wings to our imagination and take us to places beyond the boundaries of our physical world and into the land of fairies, dragons and wishing trees. It is in our imagination that we embrace things and situations that we shy away from real world. Since time immemorial, storytelling has been an integral part of our childhood and plays an important role in learners’ overall development. Every child loves to hear and tell all kinds of stories. When children listen to a story, it makes them imagine the characters, the plot, theme and many other things. Story telling is also the best way for the child to learn about so many different things which help them to learn values and culture.
GIS has always believed in overall development of its learners. To foster the imagination and creativity of a child, Story Telling Competition was organized by GIS for grade 1 to 5. The young, enthusiastic storytellers armed with their props came forth with wonderful tales. While some stories gave the audience food for thought and some reinforced moral values.

Semifinal rounds were conducted for two days in which many participants performed very well. It seemed they had clearly understood the real meaning of storytelling. Participants narrated many different stories with different morals which were thoroughly enjoyed by the judges and other participants. Final round of Story Telling Competition was conducted on 3rd September 2021 in which participants presented their story in more innovative ways.
The stories were adjudged on the basis of expression, confidence and presentation skills of the children. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. The little story tellers won everyone`s heart and were applauded.
