Teacher's Day

"A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops".

– Henry B. Adams

Teacher’s day is celebrated on 5th September every year to acknowledge and highlight the contribution of teachers and the teaching profession in India. Teacher’s day marks the birth anniversary of one of the finest teachers and philosophers of the nation, Late Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. It is one of the occasions which is celebrated with great enthusiasm and zest in schools. Also, it tends to raise awareness about the role of teachers in creating a healthy society.

Teachers’ Day was celebrated in GISK with much gusto and exhilaration. Vibrant and smiling faces of the learners greeted their mentors as they adopted all means to make this day a memorable one for their teachers. The learners extended their heartiest congratulations and gratitude to every teacher for always being a guiding light and a ray of hope in their lives.

Class XII learners posed themselves as teachers for the day and took lessons assigned to the teacher they represent. They got to know how much they are liked and appreciated by the students. Teachers on this day were reminded of their school days when they were at the student’s desk and felt nostalgic.

A special dance performance by class XII students not only enchanted the entire teaching staff with their spell-binding performances but also sent them into peals of laughter. The melodious strings and exhilarating beats filled the air with the vibes of love and bonding the students share with their dear teachers. The learners sang songs, danced, and played games. They honoured their teachers with flowers. The programme culminated with a short address by the school principal wishing all the teachers and motivating them to keep fulfilling their roles as facilitators and mentors.

Drenched in revelry, the teachers felt elevated!
